Best Friends

Yesterday I had the privilege of staying home with Gavin while my parents went to a doctor's appointment, let me just say that I love this boy! I was sitting in the floor folding laundry and he pulled his Radio Flyer car right up next to the basket and Gavin said, "Mom?" When I looked up at him he said, "Gavi and Momma, best friends!" I replied, with possibly the biggest smile I have ever had, "Yes, yes we are!" He truly melts my heart!

Sirens

Gavin is completely fascinated with sirens right now, maybe it comes from loving fire trucks, I don't know, but he gets so excited when we see any siren on emergency vehicles. I once read somewhere that those can be great teaching moments for prayer, eventhough we don't know the people inside we should still pray for them. So, I decided to tell Gavin that we should pray for the person inside the ambulence and ask that God intervene on their behalf. So I explained to him what I was going to do and then I prayed for the person, their family and the doctors to be able to help. When I was done praying Gavin asked what I was doing and I explained it to him again, he is only 2! Then he said, I will pray and he did and it was the sweetest moment. He prayed so sincerely and it literally melted my heart. It also reminded me that when I pray it also makes my Heavenly Father happy and that I should be more earnest in prayer time!
