We were eating dinner a couple of nights ago and Gavin decided that he wanted nothing to do with it so after trying and trying and Mike trying I decided to give in and just give him his boppy, which is his very best friend! After I gave it to him he still kept whining and making funny noises so I finally said to him, "Do you hear a kitty?" He got the funniest expression on his face and immediately started making the noise again, I kept asking him questions about the kitty and finally he said, "No mama, there's no kitty!" It was so cute! He has quite the imagination.
So, last night we were at church and we were all sitting around the table eating dinner, Gavin was already finished and the rest of us were still eating and talking and Gavin says, "Mama, did you hear the kitty?" I wasn't sure what he was saying and then I heard the noise that he had made earlier in the week, it was too funny! My friend Stephanie was sitting next to Gavin and she asked him if there was a kitty under his chair, the funny part is that Gavin leaned way over the side of his high chair to look for a kitty! He definitely keeps me laughing!

I Do It! I Do It!
We painted our living room this weekend and to be honest I was extremely nervous - not because of the paint but because we have a very helpful almost 2 year old! (wow, 2 already - I can't believe it!) Anyway, we had painted the room and had some paint left over so I decided that I wanted to paint my bench outside so Mike and I were painting and my parents were finishing something up inside when Gavin announced "I do it! I do it!" He did it alright! He had put his little hands on the wet wall and then put his hands on his face and in his hair - he was a mess! I forgot to take pictures but he was pretty cute! Since that was the only incident that we had I think it worked out pretty good!

Church
Since Mike is the youth director at our church we spend a lot of time there, so needless to say Gavin is pretty comfortable with the church and how things work. It's pretty neat to see him grow up in that environment and to watch him begin to understand God's love and want to learn more about it! He loves to go to Sunday School and now refers to it as his "class." I love it! He loves all of the kids at church and thinks that he is every bit as big as they are so when it is time for children's church our Pastor asks all of the kids to come up there and he does a lesson with them - when Gavin is awake he loves to go up front, as long as mommy comes to, well Sunday he went up all by himself, sit down on the step and didn't move the whole time. I wanted to stand up and watch him but I knew if he saw me that he would come running back! He really is growing up so fast and although I am sad that he is outgrowing the baby stage I love to watch accomplish new things!
We also had a memorial service for one of our church members that passed away - I thought that I would keep Gavin out there until he got out of hand for the service - the first thing in the service was a song sang by a quartet from our summer choir at church. It was an upbeat song and Gavin loves music, he was clapping and dancing (we were sitting in the back) and when the song was over he says, (rather loudly) "Amen!" It was cute but I am sooooo glad that we were in the back and not very many people heard him!
