Busy Busy

I haven't posted much lately because we have been super busy. We are getting ready for church camp and then as soon as we come home we have VBS at our church and then we are having Gavin's SECOND birthday party (I can't believe I just typed second birthday - it doesn't seem possible!) Even though we have been super busy we have had some fun times too! Saturday Mike was working a car wash fundraiser so I rode in to town with my parents to get their car washed. I saw a fire engine pull in to the parking lot across the street and if you know Gavin you know that he loves fire trucks so we asked Poppy if he would drive over so Gavin could see it and of course he did! We were driving by and I was showing Gavin different things and I saw a firemen waving to us so I showed Gavin and he started waving back, then the fireman got out and asked if he would like to take a closer look. We got out and Gavin wasn't quite sure what to think, it was pretty loud but the fireman was so nice and was showing us all the different buttons and ladders and where the water goes - Gavin was in heaven! I have a picture that I will have to post as soon as I remember to grab my camera!

If you think about it please pray for us this next week as we are attending Falls Creek - it will be a great week and we are all super excited!

Too Smart

I know that every mom thinks that their child is smart but Gavin really is quick and seems to be making connections like crazy here lately! This morning we had to stop and get some gas, Mike got out to pump it and Gavin and I stayed in the van, I turned around to look at him and I noticed that the sun was in his eyes, I put my arm across the seats to block it and I said to him, "The sun is really bright today!" His response, "Yup! Turn it off!" I just think it is ironic that he associated something being bright with the light switch and that he thinks you can just turn it off! He says silly things all the time and just keeps us laughing!

I love almost 2 year olds!

Bob the Builder

Last night as I was fixing dinner Gavin was looking out our back door. He was being pretty quiet so I wondered what was going on and then I heard something fall. I walked over to where he was and somehow he had taken the "pump" off of our screen door, you know the thing that keeps your door from slamming, and was holding it in his hand! I took it from him and was trying to put it back on the door and of course he was right down there with me so I was explaining to him that we don't take this off and it could hurt our fingers and he looked at me so intently and said, "I Bob the Builder." Seriously, where does he come up with this stuff - he is not even 2 yet!

There is never a dull moment and I love every minute of it!
